A PATHWAY TO INDEPENDENCE

What is Autism?

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental disability, typically appearing during childhood and affecting a person’s ability to communicate and interact with others. For National Autism Awareness Month, we created shareable resources about autism, the signs & symptoms, and how to be more inclusive.

Our Vision

Our vision is to have an inclusive society where the rights of children and young persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disorders are fulfilled.

Our Mission

To be an organization that promotes inclusion of children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities through Research, Advocacy, Innovation and Knowledge Sharing.

WE OFFER

JOB SHADOWING AND COACHING

We place youth for internships in various organizations and SME's where we align their skills with their self driven skills. Our partnered organizations bring expertise through music and technology to improve the child exposure.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS TRAINING

We coach on adaptive skills, safety practices, managing daily life and independence from care givers and parents. Teaching begins at a very young age especially for those with significant needs.

TRAINING OF TRAINERS

We capacity build the SNE trainer to be creative in training using progressive, interactive and transformational resources to keep the child engaged in the learning journey.

CAREGIVER/PARENT SUPPORT

We give caregivers access to trainings that allow them to connect better with their child, access to a community as well as real world proven experiences such as self feeding, toileting and school skills. We also offer for job shadowing and career coaching for young teens and adults within the spectrum.

Stories from the spectrum

real people. real stories.

“I celebrate myself for how I think and what it is that I value in life. I rest easy knowing that nobody can take that away from me.”

Richard Roe

“This little boy, who fights the challenges of autism every day with such incredible energy and enthusiasm, not only teaches me what it means to be a dad, but what it means to be a man.

IRENE MUTURI

Parent, Educator and fulltime caregiver

Our founder, Irene Muturi, is a mother to an adult with Autism and Intellectual disabilities. Her daughter’s journey has led to this wonderful organization, bringing parents and schools together to create a better

Autism world than the world we found. We are here to make changes.
